Hijacked, Drugged and Robbed

Mr. Wong (not his real name), an Allianz staff member, was watching a football match in a pub in Klang.

“When I left the pub and went to my car, two men approached me and sprayed my face with an aerosol. Blinded, they threw me to the back seat of my Honda CRV and asked me to lie on the floor. They covered my face with a cloth, which I think was dipped in chloroform, because I soon became weak from being drugged.”

Mr Wong was interrogated by the hijackers as they drove the CRV. They demanded the PIN to his ATM card and drove him to an ATM. The hijackers then dumped their victim in an abandoned mining area. Incapacitated from the drug, Mr Wong could not even walk until some time later.

Mr Wong managed to flag down a motorist whom took him home. At 7am in the morning, CAPTOR received the call from Mr Wong’s son reporting the case. An hour later, CAPTOR teams recovered the stolen CRV was recovered in Taman Puchong Tekal along with Police.

IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT

June 2 at 2.20am – Shaliza Imbrahim was sleeping at home when she received a call from CAPTOR command. There was a theft attempt underway on her Toyota Hilux, which was parked at her mother’s house along Old Klang road. She quickly called her mother, whom looked outside her window to see thief jump over her wall and escape.

Shaliza along with Police inspected the scene to find that her side window was broken and that the CAPTOR hijack button was found lying on the floor. The thieves could have easily removed her gates and driven the car out, but upon finding that the car was protected by CAPTOR, decided to leave the Hilux.

Hijacked:
What should you do

1. Try to activate the Hijack button

Activating the hijack button sends an alert to our Command Center allowing us to mobilize assistance. If the Hijack feature is activated there is no siren or flashing lights to alert the hijackers.*

2. Don't fight back

Hijacks become violent when the victim resists or talks back. Normally the hijackers will ask you some questions, take your money, watch and phone and drop you by the road-side.

3. Don't tell them you have CAPTOR

If asked you should claim that you dont know what CAPTOR is. All you know is that your car salesman installed an alarm system. If they ask you how much you paid for the alarm, your response should be "I paid 600 ringgit"

4. Notify CAPTOR fast

The sooner you notify CAPTOR of the hijack, the better your chances of recovering your car. You probably cannot remember our hotline number. We recommend our number (03) 6188-8777 be saved in your partner's or children's phone so you can retrieve it from them. Keeping the number on your home fridge and office helps.

5. Walk away from the area

Hijackers are known to double back to pick up the victim to ask more questions. Once released, walk to a public area and request someone's assistance to contact our 24 hour Command Center.

6. Lodge a police report

You must lodge a police report and give our Command Center the police report number. We coordinate with the police who require the report number to make arrests.

7. Give our Command Center a number to contact you on

You will likely be without your handphone. To allow us to update you on the recovery please give us an alternate contact number preferably a handphone.

8. Give us time

A supervisor from the Command Center will update you daily of our recovery efforts. The good news is that you have almost a 90% chance of getting your car back.

* Hijack signal will only be received within network coverage
